Client-side vector assembly

Merging specifications and layer preservation

Document concatenation operates through pdf-lib, parsing each input PDF as a binary object tree. Pages are cloned with their embedded font dictionaries, character maps, and vector annotations fully preserved into a unified destination catalogue.

Recommended use cases

  • Compiling academic theses, covers, and empirical appendices into one clean document.
  • Consolidating monthly invoices, payroll, and receipts into audit-ready bundles.
  • Assembling multipart agreements and signed counterparty addenda.
!

Technical constraints & trade-offs

  • Password-encrypted files must be decrypted prior to assembly.
  • If you merge interactive AcroForms sharing identical field identifiers, we recommend flattening each form first with our Flatten PDF tool to prevent values from colliding or overwriting each other.
BreadPDF Pro TipPro Tip

Frequently asked questions

How many files can I merge at once?
There is no artificial limit in the tool. Merging runs entirely inside your device's browser memory, so you can join two or dozens of documents as long as your system has sufficient RAM available.
How do I control the order of the merged documents?
In the file list you can drag or use the arrows to arrange documents in your exact preferred sequence before clicking 'Merge PDF'. The final document strictly follows that order from top to bottom.
Are links, hyperlinks, and selectable text preserved?
Yes. Pages are imported vectorially with their native objects, embedded fonts, and layer structures intact, keeping text sharp, selectable, and high-fidelity without forced degradation.
Can I merge PDF files with different page sizes (A4, Letter, Landscape)?
Yes. Each added page retains its original dimensions and orientation (portrait or landscape) within the combined final document.
What filename will the downloaded merged PDF have?
By default, the unified file is named 'breadpdf-documento-unido.pdf', ready to be saved in your downloads folder or renamed on your machine.
Are my documents uploaded to an external server?
No. Merging runs 100% locally in your browser using JavaScript. Files are never transmitted over the internet nor stored in the cloud.
