Structural page segmentation
Partitioning guidelines: custom intervals and atomic extraction
The splitting engine isolates requested page indices, rebuilding self-contained page trees for each resulting chunk. Only resources (embedded fonts, imagery) directly referenced by target pages are copied over, keeping output files lean.

Recommended use cases
- Isolating specific chapters or sections from lengthy reference manuals.
- Splitting batched monthly customer bills into individual PDFs for delivery.
- Separating proprietary annexes from public executive summaries.
!
Technical constraints & trade-offs
- Interval syntax requires standard commas and hyphens (e.g. '1-3, 5, 8-10'). Out-of-bounds indices are safely ignored.
- Hierarchical table-of-contents bookmarks pointing to excluded pages will not survive into isolated fragments.
If your goal is meeting exact MB thresholds for institutional uploads, consider 'Split PDF by Size', which calculates cutoffs automatically.

How do I specify page intervals or custom ranges?
In custom ranges mode, type page numbers or ranges separated by commas (for example: '1-3, 4, 5-9'). Each interval creates a distinct PDF document containing those exact pages.
Can I split the PDF into one separate file for each page?
Yes. Select 'One page per file' in the mode selector. If your PDF has 10 pages, you will receive 10 individual, sequentially numbered PDF files.
How are the split PDF files named?
Each downloaded file takes the original document's base name and appends the page number or range (for example: 'document-pagina-1.pdf' or 'document-1-3.pdf').
Is my original uploaded PDF file modified or replaced?
Not at all. Your original file remains untouched on your device; the tool only creates and saves new copies of the designated pages.
Is visual quality or text selectability lost when splitting?
No. Splitting directly copies the native vector content and streams from each page, preserving fonts, images, text, and vector graphics at 100% original fidelity.
Are my documents sent to remote servers for splitting?
No. The entire page separation and packaging process takes place locally and privately inside your browser. No file data is uploaded to remote servers.
