Frequently asked questions

How does the tool detect blank pages?
It renders each page at reduced scale (0.4×) with pdf.js and analyses the percentage of pixels with very high brightness (R, G, B > 240). If that percentage exceeds the configured threshold, the page is considered blank.
Can it remove pages with very little content that are not completely white?
Yes. By lowering the sensitivity threshold, the detector can also remove pages with minimal content such as faint headers or light watermarks. The default threshold of 97% is intentionally conservative.
Can it accidentally remove pages that are not actually blank?
At the default threshold (97%), the risk is very low. Pages with visible text or images rarely exceed 90% white pixels. If your document has very light backgrounds or subtle watermarks, adjust the threshold or review the result.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
Yes. Detection works on the visual render of each page, so it functions correctly for both vector-text PDFs and image-based scanned documents.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. All analysis and page removal are performed locally in your browser with no external data transmission.
